Fun Things To Do While Spending Spring Vacation in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale used to be a huge Spring Break destination in the 1980′s bringing in hoardes of college kids to the city. The city and its police worked to change that and now a much lower number of college kids head there for Spring break with the city having more snowbirds and families vacationing there and enjoying nice hotels withFort Lauderdale air conditioning. The problems that were created from all of those drinking college kids was too much for the area to deal with and they wanted it to return to a relaxing, more family friendly place to vacation in says a Fort Lauderdale air conditioning service business owner. This article will mention a few of the activities you can do when vacationing in Fort Lauderdale.

The majority of the people go to this place for the sunny, warm weather and the beach. There are many great activities to do while on the beach or on the water that tourists have enjoyed. One of the most enjoyable things is to take a boat tour. The favorite one there is the Spirit of Lauderdale catamaran ride that has consistently ranked at the number one spot for things to do. If you want a more leisurely tour without the speed and the excitement that a catamaran can offer, then take one of the other cruises in the area. Many couples enjoy the sunset cruise in the evening. The beaches are also a favorite activity and many visitors enjoy how well kept and clean the beach is as well.

A different type of boat tour that is something only the state of Florida can offer you is an everglade experience on an air boat. The air boat cruises over the grassy wetlands and gives people a close view of the alligators and several different tropical birds as well. The air boats go fast and are an exciting activity to do while in Fort Lauderdale. After seeing some of these animals in the everglades, visit the Anne Kolb Nature Center to see more animals that are native to Florida. It is a wonderful place for children and is very family friendly.

Because of the large amount of waterways and canals surrounding it, Fort Lauderdale is called the “Venice of America”. You can take water taxis to get to various spots as well as a boat ride through the Intracoastal Waterway is great. For those who are swimming fans, head to the International Swimming Hall of Fame where you may find information about all of the swimming legends from the past who have been honored.

If you experience a rainy day while on on your trip, head to one of the wonderful museums in the city. The museum of discovery and science is a wonderful museum for adults and children and also has an IMax 3D theatre there. It is an interactive expereince that is fun and educational. The Fort Lauderdale art museum is a great place to enjoy the various pieces of artwork.
